What you'll be doing
First 30 days
- Sit in every founder meeting and learn the business top-to-bottom.
- Map the existing operating cadence — what's working, what's broken, what's missing.
- Pick one strategic project the founders are blocked on and start unblocking it.
First 60 days
- Own end-to-end execution on 2–3 cross-functional projects (GTM, pricing, partnerships, market entry).
- Build the weekly business review the founders actually want — not the one templates suggest.
- Lead at least one customer or partner negotiation alongside the founders.
First 90 days
- Produce a board-ready update with no founder edits.
- Have shipped one durable change that will outlast you in this seat.
- Be the person other leaders go to when they need a problem unstuck.
Who you are
- 2–4 years at a top-tier consulting firm, investment bank, growth-stage startup, or PE/VC role.
- Comfortable owning ambiguous problems and producing a 90% answer in a week.
- Strong written and verbal communication — Japanese fluency is a major plus.
- High agency. You don't wait to be assigned work.
- You want to be a founder or operator at scale, and you understand this role is a fast path there.
